It is a shame. You could always just watch the bits he's in, though — especially if someone is kind enough to edit just those together. You don't really need the surrounding plot; you can just view it as "Scenes from That Time Advanced-Mathematical Genius John Retired to Private Industry and Inherited Some Kids", really. (I mean, seriously, he's a former Air Force pilot who now designs experimental planes and has won the Collier ... and who still wants to fly. Either he's John with the never-quite-canon Math Genius add-on, or he's John with Rodney's math and engineering skills, but either way he comes across very much as John Sheppard here ... at least to me.)
