Wow, I've been seeing a general "meh" reaction to Death Game on my flist, but I had no idea it was THAT bad. Even the show wasn't usually that bad at plot logic and internal consistency! (Okay, maybe it was. But only in the really cringe-inducing episodes.) The scene with John castigating his father's girlfriend sounds particularly awful. Like you said, maybe not out of character for a young guy from a privileged background, but, ewww.
