Beta needed for dark!fic [all set!]

Anybody out there interested in being the beta for a grim little story? Headers below. (I'm not in love with the title, incidentally.) If so, comment here and we can arrange email of my MSWord document or access to a locked html or whatever is easiest.

If no one here is interested, I may go check [livejournal.com profile] sga_beta or may just post with no beta, despite my convictions on that matter. :> -- M

ETA: Two lovely volunteers who have my thanks. Yay!

Title: The Folly of Fortune ([livejournal.com profile] sg_prompts #29: Luck)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] michelel72
Series: Crossover? (Rodney McKay; pre-SGA; references to SG-1 episode)
Genre/Rating: Gen; Teen for themes
Wordcount: ~1500
Timeline/Spoilers: AU of SG-1 5x14 "48 Hours"
Warnings: Major character deaths; a little gore; dark.
Disclaimer: Plot mine; Stargate characters and environments not mine. (Transformative work.)
Notes/Credits: This is not in the same continuity as my "Remorse". I won't be continuing this 'verse, but anyone else who wants to pick it up may feel free.
Summary: Unlike Sam Carter, Rodney McKay did not rely on luck … and unfortunately for everyone, he was right.

Ooh, that sounds interesting! I might have some time later tonight/tomorrow to look it over if you'd like. What kind of turnaround time do you need?

By the end of the month? I'd be super flattered. (It's a depressing little thing. I don't know where all these short pieces are coming from, all two of them now. And now that this little diversion is written, I should be workingo on the post-Trinity fic that has me diverted from my gigantic AU ... so I'm downloading Gorillaz and Fleetwood Mac for Rock Band. Hee.)

I'm open to any criticism at all, by the way. I'm unsure about this one. And thanks!

ETA: Copy sent to you @LJ from my Comcast account; hope that's okay. Thanks!

(Gorillaz eh? Of the "I'm happy, I'm feeling glad" variety, or the iPod commercial kind?)

Yep! That's fine! I've read through it once now and have made a few notes, and will probably give it another pass in a few minutes. I like it! (But I do have a few things I noticed.)

Both "Clint Eastwood" and "Feel Good, Inc" -- but I'm really bad at those so far. Then again, I bring the damn house down with "Handlebars", so I think that once I actually, y'know, learn the words to the Gorillaz ones, I'll do well with them. (Oddly enough, I score well when I don't have to hit the note they tell me to ....)

I'm not that well versed in SG1, but if you need another set of eyes, I'd be glad to look at it tonight. Just let me know!

Oh, thank you! I've sent you a copy from the same Comcast account I've used before. I don't know about this story, but I'll appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!
