How did they all get inside?

Yesterday's warm weather inspired a swarm of them around my house, and something about the way I had an air conditioner in one of the windows was letting them in despite the various seals. Then I found that the kitchen screen door and one bedroom window screen had similar problems.

Now that the weather has cooled, they're all gone again. But it was very disconcerting!
