It's St. Patrick's, not Halloween ....

I'm wearing green today. Accidentally.
I idly thought yesterday of adding a little moment to one of my stories: Teyla sending for food, including a request for soup for Rodney. It occurred to me that chicken soup is the standard cliche for the sick, and there's the whole "lemon chicken" trope regarding Rodney, so it would be amusing if she had to send it back because the soup turned out to be lemon chicken soup. I binned the idea because I was certain no one would find that remotely likely. Guess what one of the soups in the caf at work today is?

You could make it a post trinity story. In that case it would be bizarre if the chicken soup didn't include lemon ;)

Hee. Silly. Also, you'll probably recognize something in what I sent you ....

Heh. True enough. And I may have used it anyway ....

I saw a Muslim woman today, wearing a headscarf, towing two kids: a girl wearing green hair ribbons and a boy wearing green hairspray. I know green is important to Islam too, but I thought this one some cool multiculturalism. Or just living-in-Boston-itis.

my annapolis friends made a nice chicken-lentil stew with lemon juice and dill, so there's precedent.

I read that as "children-lentil" stew.

Mmm, finger-lickin' good.

I love you. You know that, right?

And cool about your multiculturalism comment, too. That rocks.

It's good to hear; thanks. :)

Turns out it's apparently common in Greek cuisine as well. Who knew?
