So ... stuff happened, then?
I just wrote a 5500* hundred word scene.
Five. Thousand. Five. Hundred. Words. As one scene. In, need it be said, a larger story.

And my problem was that it was all in my head but not coming out onto the page, and I had a deadline, and I blew the first two soft deadlines, and gah. Finally done, though. ::whew:: But no, not hitting a wordcount will never be a problem of mine (I'm sympathetic to those for whom it is, but I am SO wordy); deadlines, on the other hand, always will be ....
I do appreciate the encouragement, though. I just had to go all cone-of-silence to get the silly fic done; sorry for the late reply!
