Sunday snippet 10/27 (Sound of Silver #4)

I don't think I've mentioned yet** that my very silly story is titled "Sound of Silver", after the song by LCD Soundsystem. Because if you're gonna be extra, you might as well go all the way. I'm up over 36k with this thing and I don't think I'm halfway yet, though I've always been rubbish at figuring out how wordcount relates to progress-in-plot.

(** ETA I said it in the first posting. Sigh.)
